02| Review on the book series “Talon Saga”

Talon saga is a book series which consists of 5 different books. They are titled “Talon”, “Rogue”, “Soldier”, “Legion” and “Inferno”. These books all consist of the same characters, and you have to go from the first to the last.

This series genre is young adult and the theme’s are heroism, betrayal, sacrifice and a forbidden love. It is written by Julie Kugawa who is an America writer.

SPOILERS!!! This series is based on a dragon girl called Ember who get’s sent away from the dragon land, Talon, and get’s sent into the human realm where she has to learn how to live like a human. She makes friends with humans due to the dragons being able to transform, and she has to work together with her brother to be able to fit in unseen. But she falls in love with a human boy who works for the opposing side who is in war with talon. But when Ember figures out what her role was going to be in talon she refused to return and went rogue with a dragon boy that she met on the way and with the boy she loves.. They then enter the outside world where they have to fight off both Talon and St. George who is the human side in the war, and learn to survive on their own, They fight for their lives to destroy both sides, which includes her own brother. How will the love between the human boy and the dragon girl end up and how does the male dragon fit in with this relationship?

and how will they defeat Talon and St George?

It is a book which is quite obviously based on young adults, which it is also listed to. It is not very advanced if it comes to how it is written, so they are easy to read through. I like the fact that it continues the same story throughout the book but some people might not do so due to you having to know that it is a series and if you start at a later book you have no understanding of what is going on. I read the first 3 books together on my e-reader, and this also proves that it has a good storyline, and that it follows up. I have read series (eg. Bodyguard) which are great books by itself, but not all of them are related. Due to them having a storyline, they end on what I like to call a fake ending. It is the ending of what happened in the book, but it doesn’t fully determine the final outcome, almost like a cliffhanger. This is great for the publisher since when they finished the book you feel like you need to read the next book, at least in my experience anyways,

My rating of the book:

The reason why I gave it a 4 out of 5 is because I think that it is partially a disadvantage that you need to know about the series. Some people might buy the wrong book and then later find out that it is not the first in the series. But the storyline is good. It is easily followable, and it makes you time fly if you are into fantasy, action and romance books. Even if you enjoy just reading 1 kind, it is already enjoyable.
